With the state of the U.S. Economy in this time, impacting the rest of the world. Rapidly escalating job loss at a 25 year high, people worried and wondering what will they do next?
"They" have all but confirmed that we are in another recession. *UPDATE* It was announced last week 12-4-08.
Banks are failing, or getting bought out by the government. Detroit Automakers are now in line for their bailout $$. The economic landscape is changing by the nanosecond, with no end in sight. The news about the markets is not about the good these days. It's all about the fear and It's all getting to be a little too much.
Enough already with the negative news coverage!
Let's talk about the brighter side. Contrary to what the media says, there ARE opportunities to be had. I asked myself, what can I do make some kind of difference? What can I do, to help people out in this difficult time? I have been 'sitting with it' for about a week and this is what came to me, early the other morning. "Open the resume business back up and simplfy the business model" That's it in a nutshell. What it really means is:
I'm simplifying the core of what we do- Almost any normal resume is a flat $50. That's right, only $50 for resumes from the C-suite, to the mail-room, so to speak. This is half-off my normal rate of $100.
I'm a big advocate of education - All active students that require a resume for either a job to get through school, or to place an internship only pay $35. Just show a copy of a current student ID and the student discount is yours.
Individuals that have been displaced from their work, due to alcohol or drug addiction and have graduated from an inpatient treatment program. (or are currently in treatment) If you are now looking for work, we are offering a very special program for you. Please email or call me directly for more details.
